TWO FRIENDS GO TO LOS ALAMOS…

03/28/2017

If you want a tasteful, unbiased review of Los Alamos, you won’t get it here.

WE’RE GUSHING!

We booked this trip on a sentimental whim… Last year we stayed at Ojai Rancho Inn for our work retreat that launched Inks, we owe you Ojai Rancho!

Alamo Motel is in the Shelter Social Club family along with Ojai Rancho and a handful of other refurbished motels/inns sprinkled across California. Our intention was to get outta dodge, clear our heads and buckle down… mission accomplished, while we entirely and completely enjoyed ourselves. This town is to die for. You can stand in the middle of Bell Street and see the whole town from end to end. Which Rachel did… because there were no cars and she’s not particularly inclined to be a rule follower.

FROM HERE ON OUT

03/02/2017

Direction is one of those weird words, like pressure-y and buzz-y and we’re still very uncertain what the general consensus of its meaning is.

We do however, feel that we have somewhat obtained this illusive direction! Or at least we have some hopes, some things we’re believing for for this next year, this next season.

The notion of setting resolutions, errr, intentions for the upcoming year is fascinating to us. It speaks to the heart of humanity to continually seek to evolve, to develop, to thrive. That desire to flourish is urging us toward the things that we really, really believe in.

WOW, WHAT A DOOZY

02/22/2017

Hey there!

As we, Inks, have spent the last few months collecting ourselves, letting others love us, mend us, we’ve finally found the strength to dive back into this sacred part of our two hearts- tapping into the creation of putting words to a page for our people.

As we cozied up in our adorable hotel room with the rain singing on the windowsill in the beginning of our “inspiration retreat”, with tears and laughter and a little red wine, we began to meander through the events, trials and triumphs of this last year (let’s be honest, we both cried)… and as we reflected back on our last post during a time of utter chaos- or as we like to call it, our time of “triage” – little did we know how big these words would be for us in the months following their declaration. Our tiny human hearts have big power in our divine creativity that we want to celebrate and honor. Our gratitude for togetherness has never been stronger, neither it seems, has the assault on it been fiercer.

YOU’LL NEED THEM SOMEDAY

08/31/2016

We’re back! Kinda.

We Inks have fallen into some rough times these last few weeks—some heartache that has left us exhausting all our faculties just to get through our days. With our basic needs met there has been little to no room for creativity, so the blog has been on the back burner, you guys get it. It might be a little touch and go for this little while as we find our new rhythm, thanks for your graciousness.

Our intention with starting this blog was to be honest through the seasons and trials of life, but, honestly, it’s really hard and really scary to be transparent with an unknown audience. We have had to remind ourselves often why we believe in vulnerability, and these last few weeks have done just that- reminded us of the absolute necessity of “going there” and letting our heart be shared. Here goes:

6 REASONS WHY THE FARMER’S MARKET IS GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH

07/18/2016

Any given Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday you can find one or more Inks cruising at a Farmer’s Market in our lil town (cute tote in tow, duh). We are lucky to have a few *gems* right in our neighborhood a couple times a week, one walking distance, and two just a short drive.

We think Farmer’s Markets are pretty brilliant.

They’re kinda cute and old school, small town feely, and gets us out of the house.

Here’s 6 reasons why the Farmer’s Market is good for your health. You’re welcome for stopping at 6; we could go at this all day.
